By admin • Nov 11th, 2008 • Category: Class NewsThe Mighty, Magnificent, and Marvelous Class of 1958…The 50th Class Reunion was all that we anticipated, and more, it was a magnificent, and marvelous celebration, the committee really out did themselves.
Thanks to Ina Adams-Tyler, and Paul Barre, who spearheaded the event, they wish to thank each and every one that turned out for the spectacular celebration, yes all 77 of us.
Each of us made a “Red Carpet” entrance, what a beautiful sight that was. Because of your participation and the outstanding planning, and execution by the committee, it will truly be memorable.
Kudos to Billye Rose Cazenave, and “PO” - Bill Patterson for the magnificent job that was done by them emceeing the dinner, and dance. All were captivated by the beautiful songs sung by Eva Pearson-Fields and John Hines. Lucille Barber-Adams-Johnson, and James Ellis shared some special moments with us in reference to their professions.
The commemoration of the classmates was presented by Annie-Alexander-Wilson, Pauline Bateman-Novak, Donna Daniels-Jennings and Robert Hoskins.
The dinner of prime rib, and breast of chicken with cream sauce was, very, very tasty, and tender enough to slice with a fork. Desert was Mrs. T’s Peach Cobbler and Peach Cristo nuts, served with whipped cream.
The “Class of 1958” members wish to thank each and every one that contributed to the BTW Class of 1958 John T. Long Scholarship Fund, the checks were presented by Willene Clardy-Samilton, and Wade Ladd at the elegant affair banquet, to the proud recipients Christina Armstrong, and Reuben McIntosh, both BTW graduates, who each received $1,000.00 dollars.
The class of 1958 is extremely proud to support their quest for a higher education, for we will need their voices to ensure that what they know, and experience will make a difference, in all of our lives, “All the best to both of them.”
The culmination of the 50th Reunion was a spirit filled worship service that was held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where interm pastor is James Harrison, a special monetary donation was present to pastor Harrison by the class president Velma Traylor-Mcgee.
