Teaching is a daunting career: my responsibilities in the present are innumerable; my influence on the future is monumental and my great passion is bringing excitement to students, causing them to want to learn and gain knowledge. I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, so I incorporate a wide range of modalities including, differentiation, an array of learning styles, nurturing, and life skills, I enjoy working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through their education.  I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect.  An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world.

My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Langston University. I hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Oklahoma State University.

My positions and experiences include: McLain High School – Clerk, Principal’s secretary, organizing and coordinating office operations. Roosevelt Elementary – teacher, deliver instruction. Hawthorne Elementary – teacher/site base coordinator, deliver instruction, coordinate afterschool program. Phoenix Alternative Program – Principal, oversee curriculum/instruction and provide leadership. Anderson Elementary – Instructional Coach, provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners. .  Key Elementary – teacher, deliver instruction and Disney Elementary – teacher, deliver instruction, where I am currently teaching sixth grade homeroom.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my children, grandchildren, family and friends and I’m very good at shopping and frequenting tea shops!
