What Up Tulsa…

 

Greenwood Cultural Center Presents SHARING YOUR TULSA STORY. Everyone has a story and someone needs to hear it. Share your Tulsa story with Tulsan Tara Brooke Watkins, Theater Instructor and Director. This project will run each Monday May 22–July 25, 2017, from 6–8 p.m. Participants 18 and older are welcome in the story circle.

This is a part of a larger theatre project seeking to tell the story of the Tulsa Race Riot and its effects.

No theatre or writing experience necessary. Just be open to sharing stories and listening to others. To learn about this project and process direct your questions to Watkins at tara.watkins@tufts.edu. To RSVP call 918-596-1020.

The Alpha Xi Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will host its Status of Women Luncheon on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Okapi Event Center, 2550 W. Edison Street, Tulsa, Okla.  The 2017 theme is “Uniquely Inspired Women” and honored will be State Representative Regina Goodwin, Councilwoman Vanessa Hall Harper, Sherry Gamble Smith, Olivia Patton, Barbara Phillips, Kuma Roberts, Eunice Tarver, Sheila Thompson, and Lanetta Vann. A Grief Support Group. This group meets every Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. at Agape Bible Fellowship, 2111 S. Darlington Avenue, Tulsa, Okla. The group is led by Pastors Douglas and Chloe Allen.
