British journalist Piers Morgan said Tuesday that former White House aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman offered to sleep with him in order to win the season of “The Celebrity Apprentice” on which they both appeared.

In an op-ed for the Daily Mail, Morgan, who in the past has supported President Trump‘s White House, questioned why a “relentlessly loathsome” person such as Manigault-Newman was offered a job in the administration.

“I’ve met a lot of vile human beings in my life, from dictators and terrorists to sex abusers and wicked conmen. But I’ve never met anyone quite so relentlessly loathsome as Omarosa; a vicious, duplicitous, lying, conniving, backstabbing piece of work,” Morgan wrote.

In his op-ed, Morgan details a conversation between himself and the former Trump aide during the first season of the Trump-hosted “The Celebrity Apprentice,” during which Manigault-Newman allegedly offered to create a “showmance” between the two contestants, which Manigault Newman claimed would make them both “lots of money.

“Piers, do you want a showmance?’ ” Morgan quotes the former White House aide as saying.

” ‘A showmance. You know, a romance on the show — we get it on together. Happens all the time on Apprentice. Everyone has sex together. Then we can make lots of money out of it,’ ” she reportedly added.

Morgan said that when he turned down the offer Manigault-Newman questioned his sexuality.

“You must be joking, you deluded woman,” Morgan says he responded.

“She didn’t take it well. ‘What are you? Gay?’ ” Morgan continues.

Morgan said Manigault-Newman’s accusations surrounding his sexuality eventually made their way in front of the cameras, prompting Morgan to jokingly kiss country singer Trace Adkins during a scene on the show.

“Beneath the laughs though lay a less savoury truth,” Morgan wrote. “Omarosa is a reprehensible human being, prepared to offer sex to win a reality TV show and use the most vile homophobic slurs against rival contestants.”

Despite this, he writes, Trump “took this serial loser, and horrible human being, into the heart of the White House to spread her poison.”

Manigault-Newman, now a contestant on “Celebrity Big Brother,” left her White House position in December. Her remarks about her former workplace, however, have caused new headaches for the Trump administration.

“It’s going to not be OK, it’s not,” she said on the show last week when asked if Americans should be worried about Trump. “It’s so bad.”

Manigault-Newman later added that she wouldn’t vote for Trump again “in a million years.”

White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah slammed her comments and tenure in the White House during a briefing last week.

“Omarosa was fired three times on ‘The Apprentice,’ and this was the fourth time we let her go,” Shah said. “She had limited contact with the president while here. She has no contact now.”

On Twitter, Morgan said he felt compelled to speak out amid the uproar over former administration staffer Rob Porter, who resigned from the White House last week after news stories emerged claiming he physically abused both of his ex-wives. The administration was allegedly made aware of the allegations against Porter during his FBI background check.
