Charles Haddon Spurgeon once stated, “The Lord will make a way for you where no foot has been before.  That which, like a sea, threatens to drown you, shall be a highway for your escape.”  In his statement, he was saying God will provide many times when we are at a loss.

We will all reach pivotal points of progress when faith must kick in and propel us forward.  When confronted with the two escapable realities of not feeling as if we can go on yet not ready to give up, faith must be the catalyst that keeps you pressing on.

Faith is an adventure, a way of life that involves interactive encounters with God.  There are moments when we have to make a conscious decision to commit and submit our affairs to God.  This is the only prescription that will enable you to transition from a desperate situation to your intended destination.

In fact, there are some situations that offer just two options, panic or pray!  As we find ourselves hemmed in by the cul-de-sacs of life, there is a divine protocol for how to maneuver. When we can’t press forward, move sideways, or step backwards, it’s time to look upward and ask God to make a way.

In our faith defining moments, the key is being fully persuaded that God has the power to do what He promised.  Believe that things will happen just as He told you.

Years ago there was a father who described a time when his daughter age5, asked him to make her a dollhouse.  Being her father, he consented to do just that.  One day glancing out the window, he saw his daughters arms crammed with dishes and dolls, and she was making trip after trip until she had accumulated a pile in the yard.  He asked his wife what she was doing.  His wife responded, “You promised to build her a dollhouse, and she believes you. She’s just getting ready for it.” Upon hearing this he immediately stopped what he was doing and began to construct the dollhouse.  Why? It was her simple, childlike faith in his promise.  Faith is making reasonable assumptions based on the promises in God’s Word.  Trust Him to do just what He said He will do.
